As you know the COVID-19 pandemic is evolving on an hourly basis, resulting in a State and Federal emergency response yesterday. We have been closely monitoring the situation and at this time the decision has been made to suspend all baseball and softball activities until at least March 27th. This goes into effect starting today.
This is in accordance with the closing of the GMSD schools and the mandates that the City of Germantown implemented on Friday evening. Our first concern is the health and safety of our players, families, coaches, volunteers and officials.
We encourage you to continue to follow the guidelines that have been suggested by health officials. Please continue to practice social distancing, monitor your social interactions and continue to use proper hygiene in an effort to stem the spread of the virus.
We are eager to start playing games, and we fully understand the players are ready as well. However, at this time we must act in a manner that is best for our community. We are currently working diligently to develop alternate plans to handle the missed time to complete the season. We will keep you updated on plans for a revised schedule for the 2020 season.
We appreciate your support as we navigate this challenging situation. We will continue to seek the advice of health professionals and city officials as developments occur and we will provide updates as necessary.
