We continue to hope that you and your family are doing well during this trying time. We are encouraged by the Back to Business plan launched last week by City and County officials. As you probably already know, the Back to Business plan has several phases that progressively lift the restrictions. Phase 2 of the plan will allow athletic fields to open and allow some group gatherings with social distancing precautions. While the date of transition to Phase 2 has not been announced, we have been working on Return to Play plans so that we are ready as soon as the announcements are made.

Our goal is to play a June and July schedule, with the possibility of playing a week or two into August if needed. We hope to receive some information and guidance from City leaders later this week. That should be helpful as we look to finalize our Return to Play plan.

In addition to the information we receive from the City, we will also need some help from you. Please be looking for a quick survey from us in the next day or two. The information we receive from the survey will be extremely valuable to us and our plans moving forward. The survey should take less than five minutes and the information we receive will be vital to our planning process.

Currently we are somewhat encouraged about the possibility of having some sort of baseball and softball season this year, but we are still not confident. We believe returning to the field will provide our players with the experience to grow and develop as young athletes. We also understand that the safety of our players, coaches, family members, and officials is the number one concern. Our Return to Play plans include modifying league operations to strictly follow the guidelines from the city of Germantown and the Shelby County Health Department.

Please keep in mind that these situations and guidelines are constantly changing and evolving.  We care tremendously about the health, well-being, and development of all our GBL families and are working hard to meet your needs. Please stay safe, stay healthy and continue to stay positive. We will continue to keep you updated on our Return to Play plans and hopefully soon we will be able to see you at the ballpark soon!
