2021 GBL SPRING BASEBALL EVALUATIONS INFORMATION
Thank you for choosing to be a part of the 2021 GBL Spring Baseball season. We are looking forward to an exciting season of baseball. We wanted to share some important information on evaluations for the 2021 season which will take place this coming weekend at both Cameron Brown and Bob Hailey.
In the past we have scheduled certain blocks of time for each age group. With the pandemic still upon us we still have some policies and protocols we must follow and we will not be able to conduct evaluations exactly the way we have in the past.
Starting Feb 3rd we will start taking “appointment” type sign-ups for time slots this coming Saturday and Sunday. You will select the 60-minute time slot your prefer. This will allow us to bring in around 40 kids at a time and keep the numbers to where we need to be according to the guidelines we must follow. All appointment sign-ups will be first come-first serve.
Because of the number of players in the 7/8 Coach Pitch division and the 9/10 Division they will have slots allotted on both Saturday and Sunday. The 11-12 Division and 13-14 Division will have times allotted on Saturday only. The link to the sign-up sheet will be emailed out Tuesday morning.
T-ball and Jr. Coach Pitch do not have evaluations. All softball and our High School baseball division will take place at a later time.
Please keep in mind that these are evaluations and not try-outs. If you have registered and paid you have a spot! The evaluations are what we use to try to create a competitive balance between all the teams in each division. With that said, it is important that you make every effort to attend one of the evaluation times for your son’s age group. You only need to attend one of the sessions.
If you are currently on the wait-list please go ahead and schedule an evaluation time for your age division. We will do everything we can to try and add as many players as we can. We do not want to turn away any families, but logistically we have to make sure we can accommodate adding teams.
We understand with well over 800 baseball players signed up for the 2021 season there will be some that for whatever reason can’t attend this weekend. We will do what we need to do to get those few evaluated. We may reach out to you as parents, or even last year’s coach if they played last season. Again, please make every effort to attend one of the sessions.
Keep in mind it is early February and the weather could be an issue. If we have to cancel Saturday and/or Sunday, we will use the following weekend (2/13 & 2/14) as a make-up date. Also, when you register please make note of the facility (Cameron Brown or Bob Hailey) where your child’s age division will be conducting evaluations.
Due to the protocols that are currently in place we will not be able to take walk-ups. Please make sure you sign-up for an evaluation time. Again, those signups will begin tomorrow (Feb. 2nd).
