The 2023 GBL All-Star Game will take place Thursday June 8th at Cameron Brown Park. Each year, GBL selects a charitable cause to help with all the proceeds from the All-Star game concession stand. This year we will be supporting Hope for Hadley and Hadley Whiteaker’s family. Her father Travis Whiteaker was a long-time coach in GBL and hern Marshal played in GBL for several years. We encourage you to come out and root on the All-Stars, and help this great cause with a purchase and/or donation at the concession stand. Every penny earned during the All-Star game will go directly to Hope for Hadley. We will also have an option to take donations via a credit card. There is a flyer attached to this email if you would like to help us spread the word.
Hadley Whiteaker was a healthy little 3-year-old girl when she contracted a respiratory virus on October 17, 2018 which closed her airway. Hadley went without oxygen for approximately 20 minutes and no heart beat for 12-15 minutes. As a result, Hadley has an anoxic brain injury. She has come such a long way but still has a journey ahead of her. Hadley’s family travels to different places around the country for different treatments and therapy. The next trip will be to Monterey, Mexico for a month -ong treatment that is showing promising results in other children with the same injury as Hadley.
