We want to thank the entire Germantown community for an especially successful All-Star night. Each year, GBL chooses a charitable cause to benefit during the All-Star games. All the money through concession stand sales is directed to the year’s cause.

This year, GBL partnered with Hope for Hadley. We are happy to announce that this past Thursday, the GBL Community raised $5,059 to help give hope to Hadley and the entire Whiteaker family, which I am proud to say was presented to them, this week.

Hadley, whose family was closely associated with GBL for several years, was a healthy 3-year-old when she contracted a respiratory virus on October 17, 2018. The virus closed her airway and Hadley went without oxygen for approximately 20 minutes. Doctors say she also went 12-15 minutes with no detectable heartbeat during this time. As a result, Hadley suffered an anoxic brain injury.

She has come such a long way but still has a journey ahead of her.  Hadley’s family travels to different places around the country for different treatments and therapy.  The next trip will be to Monterey, Mexico for a month-long treatment that is showing promising results in other children with the same injury.
